2020Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2020 Blackboard Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted from multiple vineyards in Washington State; Soaring Eagle, McNary, and Four Feathers. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were harvested in the early fall mornings of 2020. The wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, with three months on oak (60% new French oak). After careful evaluation and blending by the winemaker, 1,206 cases were produced.

Awards & Accolades

"Coming from the Soaring Eagle, McNary and Four Feathers Vineyards, this blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon with 11% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot was aged for three months in 60% new French oak before bottling. Ripe black plum with cocoa powder and suggestions of baking spices all come together on the palate, with bright underlying acidity. Enjoy this really good value now and over the next several years. Drink 2023-2028."

"Medium purple in color, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon by Blackboard has aromas of slight oak and red licorice. On the palate, dusty chocolate, black cherry, blueberry compote, and slight vanilla bean are all present. This wine has a pleasurable mouthfeel, with minimal tannins, and is well structured. This is an easy drinking, a fruit-forward, and gratifying effort that should be enjoyed over the next five years. As with all Blackboard offerings, it is a great value and a wine you can stock up on without breaking the bank."

"Blackberries, cassis, cracked pepper, dark plums and dark chocolate on the nose, with pressed violets, too. It’s full-bodied yet fresh, with fine tannins and dialed-in blackberry fruit. Excellent drinkability. 86% cabernet sauvignon, 11% merlot and 3% petit verdot. Drink now. Screw cap."
